Be The Light

There's something about the new year that gives us an incentive, a spark to do better, be better, etc. But often we start off strong and then as the weeks, days, hours trickle by, so does our motivation.
How about you? How well do you keep to your resolutions to be healthier, etc...
I want to spend more time in His Word, prayer...I want His light to shine through me so fiercely that His Holy Spirit overflows onto everyone I meet.
There is a story I heard in the Elijah bible study by Priscilla Shirer, I am currently participating in and I wanted to share it with you.
There was a big ship that voyaged along on a large body of water. It traveled along at night with all its lights beaming to clear the way so it could move forward and navigate safely.
Then suddenly another light seemed to be heading straight for them. So the captain spoke into the projection speaker, "Move six degrees north."
After a moment a voice from the light ahead spoke, "Move six degrees south."
As they were getting closer and a collision seemed inevitable, the captain became nervous and once again spoke into the speaker, "Move six degrees north."
The voice came back, "Move six degrees south."
Finally, the captain fearing for the safety of all, stood taller and demanded. "I am a Captain of the United States Navy and I command you to move six degrees north."
The voice from the oncoming light came back, "You move six degrees south. I am the Light House."
When you're the lighthouse, you don't move.
When you have the light, when you have the truth, you stand steady.
God's promises are sure, they're unchanging.
You be the light in the midst of the darkness.
Blessings to you,
Cindy
